Respite
Spent the last week resting and Connecting with family in one of the beach towns in 30A, Florida.
Got to show all my kids the ocean, in all its hugeness, mystery, fun, and danger.
We had huge waves, and sometimes a wave would catch us flat-footed and send us sprawling. Ocean is fun, but you can't sleep.
Coming back tomorrow, traveling today. Am I ready to be done? No. I've got that bittersweet last-day vacation feeling as I write this, smelling the sea breeze and feeling the humid air on my arms.
Grateful that I was able to check out entirely, due to the Superpowers of my co-workers at DataJoe. Thank you, team!
It will take some effort to get back into the saddle of my normal routine, but it felt amazing to be able to completely detach from work and rest my mind and body.
Also got the best shrimp and grits of my life. They only know how to do this in the south. Shout out to Chanticleer in Grayton Beach! As you can see - no crumbs.
This is just a quick update! We will be back to our normal format next week.
Ended up writing about six chapters of my 4th book in the Solomen series, The Desert Queen, at different points. Did you know I do 70%+ of my book writing on my phone with Google Docs? Game changer for finding moments in the midst of a full life.
